Hello,
I'm Cordelia...

My Story

Cordelia Wilder founded Shining Stars ISS, Inc. after more than 30 years of advocating for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, a journey that began with the birth of her son with Down syndrome. Through her involvement in special needs ministries, community programs, and years of supporting families, she witnessed the significant shortage of services available to adults with disabilities in Tarrant County, including long waiting lists and limited options after high school. She saw many adults lose opportunities to build friendships, develop life skills, and remain actively engaged in their communities, while families often struggled to balance employment with caregiving responsibilities due to limited program hours. Cordelia envisioned a program that would provide meaningful activities, continued personal growth, social connections, and extended support for working families. Driven by the belief that every individual deserves the opportunity to learn, contribute, and live a purposeful life, she founded Shining Stars ISS, Inc. to create inclusive programs where adults with disabilities can continue to grow, belong, and thrive.
